Confluent is dedicated to providing the best Kafka Summit conference experience possible for the Apache Kafka® Community. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for conference participants (including speakers, sponsors, staff or guests) to learn, communicate, contribute, and collaborate.
As such, we are committed to creating a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Any form of written, social, or verbal communication that can be offensive or harassing to any attendee, speaker or staff is not allowed at Kafka Summit. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.
- Be nice. All participants should feel welcome, regardless of their background. Please be polite, courteous, and considerate to fellow participants. No offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion will be tolerated.
- Be respectful. We expect all participants to be respectful when communicating with other participants at all events during and surrounding the conference, even when differences of opinion arise. Participants are expected to work together to resolve disagreements constructively and respectfully.
- Reach out for help. Please inform Kafka Summit conference staff if you feel a violation has taken place and the conference team will address the situation.
- Communicate and collaborate. The concept of community is based on working together and participants will gain the most from the conference by actively participating and communicating effectively. As such, we encourage collaboration and networking as long they are conducted in a positive, constructive way.
If a conference participant engages in harassing behavior, conference staff may take any action they deem appropriate, including a warning or expulsion from the conference without a refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please inform any Kafka Summit staff via the help desk. Conference staff will be happy to assist any participant who is experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.
While you may, of course, post your complaint to social media, we ask that you to give Kafka Summit the opportunity to resolve the issue directly first. Addressing sensitive issues in this way is generally faster and is ultimately more effective.
Confluent will be recording and distributing all the sessions post-conference. Any unauthorized recording of sessions without the written permission of the conference manager is prohibited.
We expect participants to abide by these rules at all conference-related activities including social events. Thank you for your cooperation.
